TVNZ is New Zealand’s biggest free-to-air broadcaster and is also the nation’s television public service broadcaster. Under the guidance of the TVNZ Charter its public service broadcasting responsibilities require it to reflect New Zealand to New Zealanders.

Approximately 90% of TVNZ’s revenue comes from commercial sources – the biggest being advertising revenue.  About 10% of our revenue comes directly from public sources including contestable funding from New Zealand on Air and direct Charter Specific Government funding.

It broadcasts channels ONE and TV2.

TVNZ’s coporate idents run on  both channels, although much more infrequently than ONE and TV2’s own idents. The TVNZ logo also appears at the end of programmes funded by the corporation.
